And why Williams just established a College Dem club in the last year or two, and why MCLA doesn't have one at all.

I only moved out here officially this summer but I've been semi in the area for a couple years.

Brought up biotech because I'm a bio major and I might end up there so I'm invested in it, care about it, whatever.

Is there even any kind of party "machine" or organization out here?  A Google search didn't turn much up...I'd like to get more involved on the ground but I'm not seeing any way to do that locally.

In my Boston suburban town.  It took my 17 year old son, last year, to organize the first Young Democrats Club at the High School.  They receive no grants from the State or National party organizations. They fundraise on their own.

The Young Republicans have had a club for years.  Granted, I don't think it has had more than six members since the early nineties, but it was there.  And getting grants from the RNC.
