because the Democrats in congress would be able to filibuster the Republicans the same way the Republicans have hurt Obama and his pursuit of policy. I understand how things work. I also know that there was am opening when Obama took office where he could have done what was needed when it came to stimulus. He had the political capital and the press in his corner and he failed to do what was needed and now we are stuck.

A Republican in office in 2013 would be pretty freaking crazy. I don't know if the Democrats are capable of filibusters.

All I truly know is that jobs and the economy matter more than anything else come election day and Obama does not have that in his favor and all the lists and door knocking and calling is not going to change that.

to filibuster.  It will probably be a close election.  It will probably depend on how many people realize how this recession started, and who started it.  Obama is paying for GW Bush's sins.

      •  Obama can't blame Bush... (0+ / 0-)

for this, because he has had the time to fix it and he hasn't. There is no blaming Bush.

The election is going to come down to how likable the Republican is and how bad the economy is come election day. People don't decide who to vote for using reason they use emotion and if they are pissed off about the economy they are going to vote for the other person as long as they aren't crazy or creepy.

The Democrats would need to lose virtually every contested seat in 2012 in order to lose the ability to filbuster.  Does anyone think that is likely to happen even in the current or prospective political climate?  This is the first scare announcement I've heard about this potential outcome.  Are there any more ready to be released.

If the electorate doesn't know that it's Dubya's fault for The Great Recession, it's because the WH has done an abominable job of ascribing it to him.  The hippies don't own that mistake.  It starts at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
