    Here's a link to a live TV feed from the main protest in Kikar Hamedina. It's in Hebrew but there's free music and lots of wide crowd shots.

    There was a TV panel debate over the protests going on just now that sounded exactly like the sort of right-left TV debates we see all the time in the US. One woman said that the protests were justified and the state has to do more for everyday people, and some guy (an Israeli Sean Hannity?) cut in and testily asked how it would be paid for, by raising taxes on the rich to 60%?

      I'm glad that the Eisenhower Tax Rates meme is finally starting to drift through the general population.  When people realize that the era of prosperity in the 50s had 92% tax rates on the richest it starts to change people's ideas of what is possible and desirable.
