    convinced the president that all this commotion is just part of the "tired arguments of the left", and he should approve the pipeline.

    these protests are very important to raise awareness ?

    but really, what's plan B ?

    How do we work to stop the pipeline once the president gives the go-ahead ?

      giving away the game before the final score? So why should we engage in that thinking/behavior?

      it will be a long long struggle to get real action on climate - but we need public opinion to win.

      If the Tar Sands action has heightened public awareness, it is a good thing, regardless of Obama's decision.

      America is very corrupt - it will take a long & committed struggle. That is the unfortunate reality.
