Why, just in this diary, and luckily for a comment that I DID want to hide, I hit the hide and did not get the popup box.

I agree with you about using them sparingly, unless they are an outright attack on someone, such as dear Nurse Kelley.

... like our own Nurse Kelley (who is one of the kindest, most compassionate people on DKos, and everyone who has been around for a while knows it)....  Oh, no, no, no, no.... That's an HR on sight.  And a snarky pootie pix with a snarky caption.

'Sides which, she's a well-known animal lover, and everyone who is anyone who has been around for a few years knows not to f### with teh Pootie Peeple.  It's just not healthy.

What I'd like to see somewhere in the FAQ is an email address for someone (or more than one person) to whom we can report disruptive trolls.  Community moderators do a good job, but MB used to take care of the really, really annoying trolls and ban them.  I'm for freedom of speech, but being disruptive and off-topic just for the sake of disrupting a thread is just plain rude.

A few weeks ago I accidentally hit Hide on two different occasions, but luckily I caught my error after a few seconds and unclicked them.  I was lucky.

Once a week or two ago someone I like and with whom I've never had a disagreement HR'd me and I knew it was a mistake, so I just let the person know I knew it wasn't meant, it was unclicked, and the conversation went on to the other things being discussed.  No big deal 'cuz the person is very nice and I knew the HR wasn't meant.

So, there are ways of dealing with these accidents that result in no hurt feelings.

But attacks on a well-liked Kossack like Kelley....?  If I'm around, I'll help toss donuts....

      :-)

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
