  •  One of the problems that I see with (16+ / 0-)

TV coverage designed for Americans to "remember" and "pay tribute" is that it essentializes the event.  I wonder how many TV shows will cover the moment Bush was told of the attack? How many shows will delve into the fact that there were warnings that al Quaeda was planning something or the failures of the FBI and counter-terrorism experts to pass along the information they had learned.  How many shows will demonstrate the continual lies that connected the 9/11 attacks to Iraq in order to justify that immoral war.

I have no doubt that Brokaw, Williams and Gregory who are anchoring the NBC "tribute" will use it as an opportunity to justify and glorify the Bush administration.  Somehow, the individual anguish of the families who suffered, will be lost as the corporate media enjoys an orgy of self-congratulatory mutual admiration for how they covered the story.  Let's face it, for the media companies and their on-air personalities there was never a better story and their nostalgia for that day will be evident in their coverage.

I plan to turn off the TV for the day.  9/11 is too painful to watch the media make a mockery of it.

channel was airing over and over again...the Bush interview on 9-11 to get his feelings about the day and for him to explain how he felt.

I have seen several programs touting the Bush interview and wanting us to empathize and pay tribute to President Bush.

apologize for ignoring the clear warnings and then embarking on a destructive rampage after the event, the network airing it should be deeply ashamed.
