    The CPC's predictions only go out to November right now. I know that bad hurricane seasons tend to transfer heat to the poles and balance the "energy budget" of earth, so nature won't need to create as many winter storms to transfer heat up north. If we keep up with lots of storms going up north and dissipating, it might give us a milder winter. It'll be interesting.

      I'm in WMass & after last winter's snow, the tornado south of where I live, the earthquake that rumbled up from VA, & then Irene, I've had enough weathah (as they say in Maine where I am on vacation watching it pour) to last me a good long while.

      Thanks so very much for your DK & FB posts, weatherdude.  I really, really appreciate all the information - you've been unbelievably helpful in getting all of us prepared for whatever is heading our way.
