would rather pour some oil and light incense. :D However, this may prove to be a way to end my silly truce with the spiders that have made it impossible to enter into my backyard (it is my truce, but it is getting ridiculous). :)

move on. Or build them a better place to live (pile of stones in the corners of some of the patches) and hope they take the hint.

are incredibly important and eat the nasty pests that upset my overgrown rose bushes; however, they are now blocking entry from my house into the garden. there are two directly blocking the opening and 4 others that have set up camp. they are not blocking my cats from entering, it is just the human members of the house ... argh!

My rule for spiders is, they can live anywhere they like that isn't a direct hazard to humans.

The bushes are covered with little spider nests, each one with a spider that looks like a 1/2" long version of a wolf spider: slender with slight stripes and very quick.

But if they start building webs across doorways (orb weavers typically do this), then I take a broom and remove the webs in question.

In the house they're welcome to the corners at the ceilings, but not my working or sleeping areas or the bathroom near the fixtures.

You may have written the diary more than 24 hours ago and then posted it today, after the "rec" time-limit on comments.  Thus creating your TJ as an already-expired TJ.

The solution is to post another comment and label it as TJ.
