      a socialist type of system while still in the context of a capitalist economic system. They are based on a socialist or worker-owned and controlled model; the problem is that they cannot compete with capitalists and are dependent upon them for raw materials and distribution of goods; what is needed is more vertically integrated cooperatives systems producing raw materials, intermediate goods, final goods and own distribution to coops. They cannot and should not bother to fall into capitalist rules of competition and efficiency; they will never replace the system due to that. However, to argue that they are not socialist is inaccurate if they are worker owned and controlled, distribution of surplus is decided by workers, and there is no division between mental and manual labour and privilege granted.
