sworn to uphold the Constitution over orders given by Governors. They have followed orders in the past that were illegal. There is currently a push to get them understand their responsibility to the Constitution.

the use of national guards overseas in wars and other interventions; the same thing is being done here with the territorial army (which is supposed to defend the little island). I think they are deliberately blurring the lines between the armed forces and the national guard. But Truman (1952) sent in the army to seize the steel mills facing a strike by steelworkers during the Korean war (the nationalisations were declared illegal, but I do not know if the use of the armed forces were), there have been other times in american history when they were used against strikers. I have heard the Marines were being sent into NY, is that true?

are going to NY to protest with the protestors and have sworn to work as a protective force for them against police. They are going in their uniforms, and that is dangerous for them because the military will likely strike back at them. Demotion, cancel retirement pay, etc.

It will be interesting to see how they are received at the protests.
