    The Repubs' problem isn't actually with science: It's with anything that gets in the way of their agenda; if, from time to time, that thing is "science", then so be it.

    DNA doesn't get in the way of Perry's agenda: In fact, it furthers it, by bolstering his assurance that the death warrants he signs target actual criminals.

    DNA has had the salutary effect of focusing the debate: While there is still something to be said for the failure of the "human element" to adequately ensure culpability, DNA has whittled away at this a bit, so more-and-more it's really about the comportment of a decent society.
