Because I'm on my way out the door.

For now, heheh, you've successfully talked me out of my distaste for Stevie Nicks' singing. I was the biggest FM fan when Rumours came out, but soon tired of Nicks' croaking, which was getting pretty ragged in the early 80s.

I see that, as did Madonna, she took what little voice nature'd given her and made the most out of it.

Rick Perry: like Nixon with better hair and worse ethics

Ms. Nicks was, and still is, a crappy singer. Her singing wasn't the reason for bringing in Rhiannon. Note that Case 2 was about selling the song as a worthwhile piece of music and convincing the other geezers that they could play and sing it. They did all right. My lead singer is an accomplished choral singer; with a cold, she is still much better than Stevie will ever be. I'm no Buckingham, but I can do the riff and beat out the three chords, Am, F and C. That's success in my book.

Ms. Nicks singing that I don't have the musical education to appreciate but I know that her reditions of Landslide, etc. catches something deep down in me.  I have always loved her voice, and she's still pretty hot.  :)

a great song, possibly Stevie's best composition. I've done it in karaoke, but decided to leave it to chicks with high voices. It comes off a bit weird sung by a baritone with a grey beard.

My singer in the guitar group likes the song and wants to do it. I may work it up soon. It may not work too well, though. It's probable suitable only for one good lead guitarist (i.e., someone a lot better than I am) and a solo vocalist. We'll see. I'll have to research it before I commit to it.

    •  She's always been a mediocre singer. (0+ / 0-)

I can barely stand to hear her strangled-lamb of a vibrato.  But somehow her personality and presence captured the essence of Fleetwood Mac.
