    to FDR's compromise, with some Van Jones-style good sense about the planet we're living on thrown in.

    That's why I'm so incredibly angry.  All this is so unnecessary!

    We didn't have to do the deep radical re-imagining of our society that this diary suggests.  We could have continued to adjust toward that in slow, manageable incremental steps.  Even the fossil fuels problem could have been managed that way had we started in the early eighties.  Even without that, had we started an aggressive push toward green energy at the same time we were taking careful steps back toward FDR's (or Keynes') solution, we would have been OK.

    The only reason we're in this position is the unbridled greed of a bunch of sociopaths.
