  •  But if demanded loudly enough and ignored the GOP (1+ / 0-)

might finally take the brunt in 2012 for their obstructionism that is so clear to us here but not the rest of the nation. The crucial part that you and others are missing is that we activists need to press our leadership to ask the GOP to explain 10 years of job failure despite their tax cuts, despite their deregulation, despite their pathetic neoconservative ideology. We have to talk to our neighbors and write our newspapers and such about this. Expose their failure writ large.

It's time to force them publicly and often to give a good reason why it isn't time to try something else. Make them explain why they prostitute themselves for the top 1% of Americans.

And to do so in less than 14 months. Why shouldn't that be our Mantra? Finally, something that seems like a winning strategy from the Obama WH. When Obama said we need something done now that probably means, in congressional terms, by Xmas. A deadline gives them much less room to spin.  We need to make use of serious time limit on their lack of innovation. They have no alternative jobs plan. We, the activists must make that clear. Then either they vote for the package or they become seen as a national obstacle.

If Americans think of this as a good solution GOP insistence on not letting the legislation you cite going through in less than 14 months could be very problematic for the neocons. They could lose many seats over it. While I don't fully disagree with what you say, we could be wrong. If played well this could be the wedge issue we've been looking for.
