    I know it's the NYT, but it looks like a well-researched and balanced article.

    Looks like Social Security may be OK, but Medicare and Medicaid will not.  I don't like this at all, and nor do a lot of the House Dems--

    Uh-oh.

    and Obama's jobs bill can be used against Dems as well, if he's inclined that way, to say to America:  we wanted to give you jobs but those extreme liberals in my own party prevented us from doing so

    then again, given that what they're doing is defending Medicare, that message may not fly even if he delivered it

    Most likely outcome:  the Democratic message will be so hopelessly muddled that we will see low voter turnouts

      Obama means cuts to Medicare Advantage and allowing it to negotiate drug prices, and not raising the age. But we won't know until we know.
