  •  But who advances those policies but pols? (1+ / 0-)

I cannot go and cosponsor a bill in the government, only a pol can do that. I agree we need to push policies over pols but pols are inherently in that proposition since they can actually propose and sign the policies.

    •  How do policies get advanced? (0+ / 0-)

      The pol it the instrument.

Or do you think they all really really care about those bills?

      •  Sorry, advanced was the wrong word choice... (0+ / 0-)

as I mentioned, advanced was the wrong word choice. We can advance the policies through advocacy and activism (which is getting harder to do IMO with the strangehold on media and the amount of disinfo pushed by plants and corporate lackeys) but in the end we need the politician to perform to finalize these policies. They write the bills and get them passed, that is out of our hands. So we really need a two pronged approach, focus on the policies but also focus on electing pols who believe in those policies. Which leads to another problem, pols who proclaim to believe in those policies but abandon them once they get into office. The issue of getting the policies we want is really a hard nut to crack really. Campaign finance reform, a big deal. But how can we get that done when the politicians there are already funded largely by the wealthy/corporations? The chicken before the egg I suppose..
