  •  Hey I'm for some variation of universal healthcare (0+ / 0-)

I think we need a base level of guaranteed medicine. We need everyone getting the cheap preventative medicine. Then we need different levels of tiers where people can choose how much coverage to get and what their deductibles will be. That's the piece I think can be handled by the market, but I have no qualms about letting the government compete in this market, too.

Try looking at things another way.

Too many have been killed by this heartless for profit system. That these companies CEOs are Wall St. investors instead of healthcare specialists is the biggest problem. That healthcare is expensive is no problem for them because it makes their "product" more profitable. There is no incentive in the system to drive down costs. Only the captive customer base and the uninsured want to see costs come down.

This plan to raise the age for Medicare will only shift costs to people, many of whom, will be least able to afford additional  expenditures.

Healthcare is a right and we should take it from the murdering ghouls who profit on others' misery and death and create a humane and sustainable system that cares for all.
