    Dear Mr. Chilsom:

    It appears that the evidence in the Troy Davis case has exceeded even the highest bar of reasonable doubt, and of course it would be an irreversible travesty to execute an innocent man. Anyone in a position to halt this potential injustice must act, both as an officer of the court and as a human being. While at times imperfect, our system of justice is the last best hope for each and every one of us, including Mr. Davis. Indeed, it is the very foundation of our nation and all that we stand for.

    I trust that you will carefully consider this matter and ultimately do the right thing. Thank you.
