Medicaid covers a far different "client base" as Medicare does.  There are a lot of questions in this program...Illegals getting medicaid benefits...questionable applications that are overlooked...etc.

Medicare is by far the best governmental system going on today.  It is rivaled by Social Security, of course, but our seniors are well covered by Medicare and rightly so.

States are the major providers of Medicaid and they administer that mostly.  There are a lot of differences in that program depending on which state you're talking about.

    •  What a card. "A lot of questions." Yeah, like why (0+ / 0-)

a bunch of rethug pols in places like FL and WI and MI and OH etc. do absolutely stupid stuff (if you are a "fiscal conservative," austerity-driven creature) like "de-funding" home health care that allows so many people with health and disability challenges to live in kindly and caring family environments, in favor of forcing those same people (with their vulnerability to bedsores and shitty nutrition and UNcare by grossly overworked and uninspired aides in FOR-PROFIT "institutions. Which this time, like every time it has been crammed down before, will end up costing not only more money, but more dead and miserable fellow humans. And forcing your "welfare cheats" to go to particular private clinics for treatment, and get drug tested, and a bunch of other punitive bullshit that the sicko bastards in the kleptocracy put out there ot increase the rate of wealth transfer into private profit deals and into the social-darwin misery that the Wrongs are always looking to bolster. And of course that bit about if you are poor, you have to be prostrate before Medicaid will pick up end of life care

Your "examples" are straight Red talking points. "Illegal aliens?" "Questionable payments?" Which ones? The better part of a billion dollars to Rick Scott's HCA/Columbia pyramid scheme?

Should I hope some day you get to avail yourself (thanks to some combination of circumstances) of the tender mercies of what is unfortunately likely to become of the Medicaid system, where already many physicians are lowball-priced out of providing what was that stuff again, HEALTH CARE?
