    are already higher for wealthier people - we've had tiered Part B premiums based on income for four years, and tiered Part D premiums started this year. The cutoff income levels are not inflation-adjusted, so even without any changes more and more people may be paying the higher premiums every year.

      They continually protect the wealthy and even if they have allowed the increases thus far, I'd say the Tea Party nuttiness would put a stop to any further increases. Perhaps they'd allow it if, as you note, everybody's premiums go up. But as a stand-alone idea? I highly doubt it.
