    1.  They're creating profits by short-terming their operations and inventory, taking advantage of the circumstances to squeeze more work out of fewer employees for less pay.

    2.  They're counting on foreign profits (from the rising middle class consumers 'over there').

    Both strategies are going to undermine their profits in the reasonably short term by reducign the purchasing power of the Demand Creators (US Middle Class) that still form a large segment of their customers and also are the primary reason that the middle class consumers are being created in other regions. (They're becoming middle class by making things that get sold to our middle class.  If we stop buying, they'll stop being middle class and go back to the pennies-a-day labor they came from.)

    Someone in a very expensive suit is at the front door and says he wants to foreclose on our democracy. Where should I tell him he can put his robosigning pen?
