  •  Hasn't this been happening all along? (4+ / 0-)
Under this bill, if a company wants to bust a union by outsourcing its work to China, this bill permits it. Workers would be powerless to stop that outsourcing.

I'm sure companies aren't actually SAYING they're doing this for that reason...as Boeing has been said to have done...but, who here doesn't know that all of the movements by companies overseas was because it would give them less employment costs/benefit costs?

    Of course it is.

of a law that's been on the books for over 70 years and an interpretation of the US Supreme Court that goes back at least to 1965.

There are varying levels of "bad" which at some point becomes "illegal".

You're right, they've been engaging widely in "bad" for many years and it's a short-sighted and eventually self-destrutive approach for the "Job Creators" to pursue.

But while many of the protections labor had have been slowly eroded away and many of the tax and trade policies that would have directed our economy towards a different, better end have been reversed or ignored in the last 30 years, there are a few protections in the law that remain.

This is one and while it is not perfect, it's better than nothing (which is what would be left if the GOP bill were enacted into law.)

Someone in a very expensive suit is at the front door and says he wants to foreclose on our democracy. Where should I tell him he can put his robosigning pen?
