  •  I Agree About Asimov's Later Books (6+ / 0-)

    I agree about the later books where Asimov tries to smerge the Robot Novels (in which the planets settled by Earth have a robot culture and Earth is overcrowded but habitable) with the Empire/Foundation stories (in which robots are unknown and Earth is a radioactive waste).  He tried to retcon too much and would have been better off leaving the two universes seperate.

    Of course, if he had managed to retcon the Lucky Starr books into his Amalgamated Universe, I might have forgiven him.  For all the outdated science and space opera heroics, Lucky Starr is a sentimental favorite of mine.
