quote from Mao:  "We should rid our ranks of all impotent thinking. All view that overestimate the stgrength of the enemy and underestimate the strength of the people are wrong."  This has got to be the Mantra for all revolutionaries.

mean.  What did I say that suggested impotent thinking?

criticisms TPau has apparently received from friends and the critical (though properly so) discussion here, that your quote was a good reminder to also look to how we can support coop building as one of the progressive forces.  (Unfortunately, we are all aware of the limits)  Great book in Sin Patron by the Lavaca Collective -- deals with Argentinian coops, which have continued and are holding up nicely since they started when the capitalist businesses decided to decamp in bad economic times.  Course they have had increasing support from the government.  This would be an excellent topic-  how we can change the laws (including tax laws) that govern coops.  Right now, most U.S. coops register under the ESOP form since it is more tax friendly.  It is, however, the least innately supportive of democratic change, though it can be somewhat progressive, depending on the workers doing it.  Just recently, the Small business Association has agreed to give loans, through some coop funding groups, to actual cooprs (again, the pressure from the economy is driving this). Course, politically Obama isn't going to talk about this.
