    And thinks he will use the seat as a stepping stone for higher office.  if so, the seat could open up at the right time for her...?

      That seat is not one that use as a platform for higher office. And no offense to Mr. Anderson, but a college dropout from Duluth isn't the best profile statewide. In fact, the metro vs outstate divide in the state is such that outstAte politicians have little to no chance to win statewide. Regardless of party. I blame this bias for Mike Hatch losing against Pawlenty in 06, Marty Seifert losing the primary to Emmer in 10, and TIM Bakk having gained zero traction in the DFL caucus last year for governor. Currently, every official elected statewide in their own right is from the 7-county metro area. The lt. Governor is from Duluth, but she ran on a ticket with Dayton, a Minneapolis resident.
