    for more than three days.

    In fact, they probably aren't, so as to prevent Obama from making recess appointments.

    The House is probably trying to do some sort of psuedo-adjournment where they won't have to actually convene again until October 3rd.

      Presidential nominations only require the Senate, so Boehner takes a lot of time for golfing without having to worry about recess appointments.

      I only learned recently that the House could object to the Senate going on recess.  If the Senate can go the other way, it still doesn't mean more than pro forma sessions where someone gavels in, then right back out in a matter of minutes.  I don't think they can make them all stay.  

      That said, there's hay to be made about all those House vacations.  Or at least should be.  Abandoning the ship just when the country's at the brink.  (Again.  Thanks to them.)
