    honest in its portrayal of not only people of color but everyone, warts and all. To lay bare a character like Andy Sipowicz with all of his bigotries, and the tension between him and Lieutenant Fancy and other characters of color ( gender, sexual orientation ) was very real. Bochco did this as well with Hill Street Blues, and LA Law.

    Other shows like St. Elsewhere showed black and female characters in traditionally white male roles. Not to mention giving us a certain actor named Denzel Washington :)

    We view "The Handmaid's Tale" as cautionary. The GOP views it as an instruction book.
