    conservative comprehension of an essential concept is their assertion that there is no reason to raise the minimum wage, since almost nobody is working at the minimum wage anyway. Despite all of their ranting about supply and demand curves, they don't seem to be able to draw such a chart on a piece of paper and draw the necessary inferences about how a minimum wage would operate in the labor market. They don't get the fundamental point that unless a LOT of people are working at minimum wage, the minimum wage is not doing its job.

    Though apparently, it is doing its job in Texas. Sort of. At least, it's doing a job.

    To put the torture behind us is, inevitably, to put it in front of us.
