    Working class people thinking that home ownership somehow separated them from the rest of the working class was a huge victory for right-wing framing.  That's why I'm so quick to point out that if you rely solely on wages to live, you aren't really middle class.

    While there may have been some savings, there is a reason a distinction is often made between financial and non-financial assets (and the so-called middle class's biggest asset is often home equity that is actually earning a negative return.)

    Those who support banning cocaine are no better than those who support banning cheeseburgers
