    to have to fight for the element of this bill which is least desirable.  Gotta do it to keep the healthcare ball rolling in the right direction, but would sure like to be investing energy in a program what works better than this cave-in to the insurance industry.

        for the reasons explained in the blog post above. Sure, we'd like a better law -- public option or single payer. But, the mandate is needed to require coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.

        The best thing about the ACA is that the right wing hates it so intensely. I think the GOP is afraid that if health care reform works, it will be seen as a benefit provided by the Democrats, like Medicare and Social Security.
