  •  The GOP gets _ALL_ the blame (1+ / 0-)

They have done nothing but harm to the economy since they took the House.  A constant threat of government shutdown is the "uncertainty" they they live on.

possibility, it would be the first time ever that the out-party would get the blame for a bad economy (before anyone brings up 1948, GDP growth was actually quite strong leading up to that election). Surely Republican recklessness might end up rewriting the rules of how presidential elections work -- but I'm not willing to bet on it.

With every goddess a let down, every idol a bring down, it gets you down / but the search for perfection, your own predilection, goes on and on and on. . .

        push the idea.

      •  The Democrats are the _OUT_ party (0+ / 0-)

because the House of Representatives is designed as the seat of power in this country.  The Democratic House passed HUNDREDS of bills to aid the economy and all were blocked by the Republican Filibustering Senate (not part of the actual design of the government).  So PROGRESSIVE ACTIONS REQUIRE a Democratic House as well as the Senate and the Presidency.  Our government is a CONSERVATIVE design.  The House can block any measure at all  and the Senate nor the president can appropriate any spending.  Only those who lack proper education in history and civics see the Democrats as the "out party".

        •  Obviously I meant that only those (0+ / 0-)

who lack a proper education in history and civics see the Republicans as the "out party".  They, the Republicans, are controlling just about everything.
