the substantial number of vets explosed in Vietnam.

The total tons of agent orange used in Vietnam was staggering.

The DOD was so frustrated by the North Vietnamese to find trails to the south, that we damn near tried to deforest the entire country, impervious to the health consequences to our own troops, especially those dispensing the chemicals from helicopters and planes.

And, what is the purpose of this regestry?  To monitor and follow for health anomolies, or to qualify for health benefits?

Fort McClellan Health Registry are entirely different critters. Different chemicals, largely different victims, distressingly similar health results.

The purpose of any of these registries is to establish, through enormous statistical data bases, connections between medical conditions and chemical exposures which cannot be proven on an individual, case by case basis.

When something is clearly demonstrated by the statistical analysis to be associated to a chemical various options arise; treatment programs when necessary or possible, assistance with necessities like wheelchairs or scooters for example, and cash compensation in the form of a monthly disability check where appropriate.
