  •  If Mass were so liberal..... (9+ / 0-)

how do you explain Mitt Romney and Scott Brown?

Free markets would be a great idea, if markets were actually free.

    •  It's rare that one party is going (0+ / 0-)

to be completely shut out from every statewide. Over the last ten years, I'm sure almost every single state has members from both parties hold some statewide office. HE get good candidates from the minority party, or poor/corrupt candidates from the majority party.

Brown ran against a horrible candidate. And he is the exception. The last GOP senator in MA was in the 1970s, and was an actual liberal Republican I believe.

Romney ran as a moderate even liberal candidate and won, also, against a not very good Dem candidate.

I like Warren. I'm just saying, let's not pretend she would be doing as well in OK, or even OH, as she is doing in MA.

You have exactly 10 seconds to change that look of disgusting pity into one of enormous respect!

    •  Liberal but sexist (0+ / 0-)

Romney ran as a liberal Republican of the type New Englanders recognize. It may not have been true (who knows, with Romney) but he has the health care plan to prove it.

Martha Coakley ran an awful campaign, and also ran head-on into the buzz-saw that Mass. uses on women candidates.

Hopefully Elizabeth Warren can get up enough of a head of steam -- and tap into the OccupyBoston type anger -- and overcome that.
