    modern horticulture will take steps to avoid and control harmful viruses, much like what we could do with intelligent regulation of financial institutions. Which is not to say that a new virus will not arise in either of those spheres, of course; but surveillance and decisive action can help.

    Looks like you and I were writing about the virus at the same time...
