    Short sellers are not allowed to vote at company meetings. This is completely false and I challenge you to produce evidence beyond your original link.

    Your link is a misunderstanding of another article, that was concerned with the hypothetical problem of share multiplication by short selling, the problem that occurs when a share is 'owned' by multiple people simultaneously. All these people want to vote their shares, only that there aren't enough actual shares because of lending.

    This may be an actual problem, but a far different one than what you have presented. The short seller never votes the shares: only people with a long position do.
