thing that surprised me here was to walk in and see an Anarchists working group. Couching something in terms of an ideology is completely antithetical to the ethos of the participatory direct democracy. You avoid discussing ideologies and just get stuff done together. I'm not sure what proposals or work gets done in an Anarchists group.

In NY, I never knew anyone's political affiliation or philosophy. It simply wasn't a topic of discussion. (And there were plenty of college students.) So, I'm not sure why the topic of political parties keeps emerging here. For instance, there has been discussion about whether member of the Tea Party are welcome.

Well, in this model, you leave your party affiliation at the door. All are welcome to get down to work. You sort out different ideas of how to approach the work - by including everybody's ideas and construction a creative solution which is workable for all.

So, I don't get why any mention of any political party comes up at all. Except that people really don't understand and haven't internalized the model.

Please remember to Witness Revolution. It means so much to them that we pay attention.

see--that's the kind of thing you'd expect in this post-college environment--

things in terms of clubs and societies.  There's probably a Socialist Workers Table (always is)  Might be useful, but in a different way than NY.

Hang in there, let us know what happens, and good luck!
