Although, I don't think obscenity-laced ranting against the Mormons is going to do much good in Arizona, TripleHelix.

Mormons are here in Arizona. They are always going to be here in Arizona. By and large, they just do what they are told to do by their bishops, no questions allowed - part of the tenets of their religion, I believe. Not entirely blameless, but not really done with intentional malice - mostly just due to ignorance of the facts (as in "misled" by their own religious authorities).

I would note, for instance, that another Mormon is the real candidate against Pearce. Why? Because only another Mormon could beat Pearce in the East Valley.

Don't get me wrong. I feel the Mormon Church overall is fairly abhorrent, a trait they share with most religions. The real people to blame are the bishops and higher-ups in the church. They are the ones who apparently, judging from their actions, are some really, really bad folks.

Raging about the Mormons in Arizona is kinda' like pissin' in the wind - they ain't gonna' let on that they noticed and you're just gonna' end up with piss all over yourself.

Thanks again, Mother Mags, for taking the time to put out the local news.

    •  Boy, that didn't take long! (0+ / 0-)

As an explanation to my first sentence in the comment above, there was an obscenity-laced comment from some newcomer, TripleHelix, but it didn't last long.

      Good work, trusted users.

about my diary as an obscenity laced rant against Mormons, which it's not intended to be at all. Then I saw that comment and its removal.

BTW, some of Pearce's loudest critics are Mormons, who think he's embarrassed the Church with his bigotry. One Mormon elder wrote a letter to the Gov calling Pearce a "knuckle dragging closet racist."

It really doesn't do much good to reply directly to those types of people (the short-lived TripleHelix) and what I really wanted to do was compliment your writing. Sorry for the confusion. Had to at least mention how off-base that person was.

I don't know what kinds of places some people live, but I live in Arizona and somehow I have to come to terms with what is going on here. I think a big part of that is understanding what is really going on here. And that is where your stuff really helps.
