  •  I attended a meeting (12+ / 0-)

I attended the meeting here in Port Arthur, TX where the public could voice their opinions on the project.  I talked to a representative of a environmental consulting firm at the hearing.  I asked who she worked for and she said the state department.  I then asked if she worked for any oil companies and she asked me if I was a reporter.   She wouldn't answer the question. Also, one of the people who was there to speak out against the pipeline said the people running the meeting worked for Transcanada and BP.  The people in charge had looks on their faces like "we've been caught."  Maybe I was just reading things into it but no one denied it when this lady said what she did.  I came away from the meeting feeling like the "fix was in". So, I guess it is just a matter of waiting to see what happens with all of this.
