      Lt. Governor. The MODems are a bit primary adverse and I'd imagine the chair of the party wouldn't have officially jumped in if she wasn't pretty sure that she wouldn't get major opposition.

      It's pretty much MO2 or go home. And Russ' shot at MO2 is there, it'd just take some good fortune for how nasty the GOP Primary would get.

      His sister Robin has already announced she's not seeking re-election in 2012.

      I feel like LtGov would have been perfect for him. He has high name rec (last name, anyway) and it's a relatively low-profile/harmless job. With Nixon's coattails and the Carnahan name, he probably could have won and then run for Governor or Senate down the line. Maybe he's considering doing all that with Secretary of State instead. Although he seems determined to stay in the House and uninterested in anything else.
