No one has the right to make a profit. What we all--BoA included--have the right to do is to try to make a profit, but only within the established regulatory framework that is our civilized society.

    •  But His Comment Is Telling. Over The Last 30 Years (7+ / 0-)

instead of using their profits to compete with other banks, they've used their resources to buy politicians to deregulate and otherwise distort/monopolize the market so much that (buying into their own expensive propaganda) they now believe that our government is there to serve them; to do their bidding by protecting/expanding their "entitlement" to profits.

So what if 80% of the citizens want a public option?  So what if 80% oppose cuts to SS and Medicare/ Medicaid?

The politicians/future lobbyists and corporate officers don't work for our votes anymore.  They work for the money the corporations can provide them not just for their campaigns but for their families and their retirements.

The oligarchy has replaced our democracy with an idiocracy that they're hell bent on expanding.

just how hard and how long they'll wring the neck of the Golden Goose before they realize that they're killing it. Somehow I picture them desperately squeezing and choking the limp and broken neck of the stone-cold corpse before it even begins to dawn on them what they've done.

they've lived Teflon lives.  They believe that past performance guarantees they'll out-smart us all into eternity.

          Remember this...

Well now the market crapped out, & even though it has come back somewhat, the government and the average Joes are still looking for a scapegoat. God knows there has to be one for everything. Well, here we are.

Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you’re only going to hurt yourselves. What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don’t take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don’t demand a union. We don’t retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we’ll eat that.

Seems they're not fooling everyone any longer. ;-)

            If it's
            Not your body
            Then it's
            Not your choice
            AND it's
            None of your damn business!

            As fucking if!

Geez, you'd think that with a work ethic like that, all these soon to be jobless Wall St. fucksticks will be clamoring to replace all the undocumented laborers picking fruit, mowing lawns, cleaning motel rooms, washing dishes, and so on---the same folks the anti-immigration wing of the GOoPers have such a hard-on to crack down on.

I live for the day when you can pick up a truckload of penniless unemployed financial day laborers in front of your local BofA branch!

            Bwahahahahah!!!!

We'll see just how hard these smug little douchebags want to work when they find out what kind of wages real people get paid. Funnier yet, just wait for the looks on their faces when they come for our jobs, and then realize that they were the ones who sent all our jobs to China in the first place.

still incredible fodder to use against these out-of-touch jerks.

I will spread this National Review post as far and wide as I can.

      •  Corruption of the underlying structures of the (0+ / 0-)

        government and the nation's economy.

I'm talking about what led to the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Someone in a very expensive suit is at the front door and says he wants to foreclose on our democracy. Where should I tell him he can put his robosigning pen?
