  •  Republicans are all about making a buck (7+ / 0-)

If some people get killed in the process, so be it. That's always been the ethos of Republicans, they're just now admitting it in public. I have to go take a shower.

    •  That Would not be Their Take-Away (0+ / 0-)

The typical Republican Primary voter would see this as an example of how the Left exaggerates risks in order to hamper business which in turn leads to lack of profits and job loss. They will roll their eyes at the claims that the plant "kills people" the same way Progressives rolled their eyes at all of Bush's administration warnings about "Mushroom Clouds".

Choosing to highlight this clip is risky for Perry and might come back to bite his campaign if it survives long enough. While the typical Republican base will instantly get the intended message, a general election low information voter - even one that leans Republican would likely be horrified by it.

      ...to support business, right?

And if it takes some government development money to lure that new Soylent Green factory to Texas, I'm sure that Rick Perry's enterprise fund will be more than willing to provide that money.  And, probably, to guarantee the supply of raw ingredients, as well...
