    message against Occupy Wall Street in order to keep their own voters from fleeing them.  Occupy Wall Street isn't campaigning for office, so what the GOP is doing isn't going to work.  Democrats don't need to formally embrace the movement, but can do what they've been doing: acknowledge the legitimacy of the protests, much like they did the anti-war movement.

    This movement, like the anti-war movement, has the potential to up-end the GOP's hold on power and their own political legitimacy on the issue of the role of government (the war cost them their previously bestowed legitimacy on national security matters).

    Let's hope the protests continue, because the political system is completely tone deaf to the people's needs thanks to the union between the GOP and corporate interests who believe in a laissez-faire world.
