    based on the split second (actually a few minutes) decision making by the leaders of the USSR and the US was THE issue that preoccupied all of us in the 70s. That clock has slowed down some, but not nearly enough for comfort. The rest can be seen in the movie Koyaanisqatsi (Life Out of Balance).

    Re money, the rules were changed in the 80s. Money could slosh around the world unrestricted. Add computes and software that can trick millions out of trades in nanoseconds, robosigned mortgages, derivatives that no one understands and you have an idea of what's terribly wrong today.

    The answers I see here are a wonderful reaction to this madness. I just don't know if they could take the strain of a larger portion of the population taking part. We've been trained to expect everything we want NOW and CHEAP.
