        if it were not for leasing rights and other governmental subsidies, fossil fuels would  be much more expensive.

        take a look here.  

        Fossil Fuel energy industry is highly subsidized by government.  

        it's factually inaccurate to say that fossil fuel based energy is operating in a "free market" environment free of subsidy.  

        it's not even close.

        If the "troll" alert refers to the "Should be economics 101" comment, then it's based on a misread of that comment.
