  •  Cheers to Senator Sanders! (12+ / 0-)

I wish we had more like you in both the Senate and the House!

Please REPEAL IN FULL the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, and put the Glass Steagal Act of 1932 back into place.  That's the first thing that needs to be done to get Casino Wall Street back in line.

NO MORE BAIL-OUTS!  Yes, I know it will crash the world economy because they're 'too big to fail,' but at this point I no longer care.  If Casino Wall Street and the f##king corporations go back to zero and start over with decent regulations that they MUST follow, no matter what, or face stiff penalties which includes jail time for the corporate criminals, we may be better off in the long run.

Take away Corporate Personhood.  Pass a law over-riding the SCOTUS decision that corporations are persons (what a stupid, stupid, stupid decision!).  As the bumper-sticker slogan says, "I'll believe corporations are persons when Texas executes one."  There is NO need whatsoever to let corporations spend billions buying politicians or buying ads in corporate media to sway voter opinion the way they want us to vote.  At worst, it's probably illegal.  At best, it's immoral and unethical of corporations to sway public opinion enough to get people to vote against their best interests.

    Some videos to "appreciate":

Trader on the BBC says Eurozone Market will crash
At about the 2:35 mark:  "The stock market is finished.....  The governments don't rule the world.  Goldman Sachs rules the world.  Goldman Sachs does not care about this rescue package; neither does the big funds....  [Rastani's prediction:]  In less than 12 months, the savings of millions of people will vanish, and this is just the beginning."  Alessio Rastani, IMF Advisor

[A bit of 'naughty language' in the below videos so don't listen with kids around, or listen with earphones on.]

Exclusive - Michael Lewis Extended Interview Pt. 1 - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 10/04/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

Exclusive - Michael Lewis Extended Interview Pt. 2 - The Daily Show with Jon Stewart - 10/04/11 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

If you want to see the whole show from which these two sections of the interview with Michael Lewis evolved, the show is at Hulu.  Pt. 1 of the interview is the last half of this show:

Watch both segments of Jon Stewart's interview with Michael Lewis regarding the monetary melt-down in the world and how what happened here happened elsewhere because of what happened in the US in the first place.

I think it would be worth the time and money to buy Michael Lewis' book.

[Disclaimer:  I had never heard of Michael Lewis was until I saw the first part of the interview on Hulu that contains Pt. 1 of the interview.  While there's not a snowball's chance in hell I'd ever pay to watch a sports movie or buy anything like that to own, thanks to the above two videos I'm finally comprehending some of the world monetary crunch and how the US f##ked it up for the rest of the world.  What I can't figure out now is how the hell anyone was dumb enough to buy up the junk securities the US was selling in the first place.  This is the kind of black hole stock market most of our Congress Critters [except Bernie Sanders] want to invest our $2.6 Trillion of Social Security Insurance monies into, the stock market that is still falling into oblivion because there are no controls or regulations on it, a stock market that is likely going to turn around again in the not-too-distant-future and say "Hey, we need to be bailed out again because we're too big to fail"?!?!?  What are they; insane???]

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
