    I have to use it on a PC at work. It's so damn busy protecting me from myself, it's almost unusable.

      I have a copy of it to mess around with. The only thing new in Windows 8 has  dual desktop interfaces, the conventional one and a new "push things around touch screen interface. You are probably referring to Windows 7 which I find to be a stable very useful OS.

        That you have to note you find Windows 7 'stable' says it all.

        Without the Mac, we'd probably be putting up with DOS 10 or 11 now - and thinking that was progress.
