  •  Good "to do" list but I don't (0+ / 0-)

think you can get them without first doing a little tedious and long overdue housework on the functionality of our democracy.  I posted this core principles once before, and I'll do it one more time here because I think it is so fundamental:

For Occupy Wall Street perhaps those 3 principles would be:

         1.  Eliminate corporate money in elections with Constitutional Amendment per Dylan Ratigan of MSNBC's petition: http://www.getmoneyout.com/

            2. Permit citizens to double check vote tallies at local precincts before ballots are transported. (If you think there is lots of hanky panky in reducing voting rights, you ought to see what is happening behind the curtain at the voting booths.  Trade secret protected corporate software tallies your votes at the precinct and/or in a centralized site (including vote by mail ballots) with only gratuitous spot checks in the chain of custody.  I guarantee that casinos in Las Vegas have been custody with 24/7 surveillance on their operations.  Traditional precinct voting had one group stay throughout the day to avoid switcheroos and then the ballots were publlicly counted before the ballots left the site. We can double check machine counts BEFORE ballots leave the precincts.  And vote by mail can be limited to true need (rural and diabled), because its long chain of custody inherently makes it less secure.)

            3. Eliminate corrupt politicians by creating laws eliminating money received from any other source than their government pay check.

If those 3 things are accomplished, you will see more Bernie Sanders!

Imagine what that would mean to jobs in the U.S. Imagine what that would do to Pell Grants, Social Security and Healthcare.

Imagine how easy it would be for our electeds to do something about the banksters when they are no longer paid hush money by them.

    Imagine!
