      I think the recall will determine who wins. It's going to be the dominant political story in Wisconsin for the first half of 2012, and all of the conservative activists who are getting fired up to defend Walker will gravitate toward Fitzgerald, his top lieutenant in the legislature. If Walker wins, it will be a victory for his brand of conservatism and Fitz can claim a lot of the credit.

      If he loses, on the other hand, Republicans will start caring a lot more about electability and start to remember the "good old days" when they had the governor's office on lockdown.

      Either way, Neumann won't be much of a factor.
