and I listened to when we bought our first CD player was the Eroica Symphony.  The first two cords of piece almost gave us heart attacks because they came without warning.....we were used to the snap, crackle, and pop of vinyl LP's that warned you that the music was about to start.

One of the first classical recordings I played on mine was...Beethoven's Fifth! But it was an LP recording played on a record player! Must have been about 1979.

      •  Gosh. My first record (0+ / 0-)

was Cheech and Chong's Big Bambu album, which included a gigantic Bambu rolling paper.  First album I ever paid for and didn't get from a friend or inherit from an older brother's throwaways.

The first music album I ever bought... I think it was Billion Dollar Baby by Alice Cooper.  But that might have been my sister who bought it.  My first classical album was 1812 overture.

The CD version of the Fifth Symphony. All I have is the LP, bought as a Xmas present for me by my brother when I was a teenager 40+ years ago.
