thrown under the bus which prompted a decision to run for Senate?  I saw an interview with her after she didn't get top spot in the bureau she set up, on Rachel Maddow, and she appeared very very angry.

i'm not a washington person; i never really wanted a job here.

i had this idea for the agency and figured someone else would take care.  i am here to set up agency to start pushing back.

i don't know the politics, but i don't see this as a compromise at all.  confirmation would have kept me from being able to work on or talk about agency.  or i could not have that title and get to work right now.  i don't care what you call me; let me come work and help.

Right off the bat, just answer your friends out there, your allies who are highly suspicious of this temporary Presidential appointment, or that he did it because he just didn't have the backbone to fight for your nomination.

Warren:  We see completely eye to eye on this consumer agency.  This predates him becoming a Senator and I am convinced he has given me the tools needed to get the job done.

Under no circumstances would you be the nominee down the road?

Warren:  Nomination was on the table, but we would have spent a year fighting.  I couldn't talk; I couldn't work.

        •  thanks (8+ / 0-)

at the 12:50 mark, maddow asks her if she wishes she were the head of CFPB. her immediate response is laughter.  she goes on to laud Obama's efforts, dodd-frank, etc.

yes, she got upset at the GOP for blocking her nomination, but she also says "i can step away from this.  what i care about is this agency."

i.e., even if we accept that she did want it all along, it is absolutely NOT TRUE to suggest that it was Obama's administration that ruined it.  warren doesn't feel that way and there's absolutely no evidence to suggest she is even disappointed about not heading the agency.

every statement of hers says just the opposite -- that she didn't want it, because being the nominee meant she couldn't talk about it or work on it for a year.

can this zombie lie from hell please just die already?

her under the bus" simply means he didn't fight for her, couldn't fight for her, or whatever the case may be.  Not that he betrayed her.  The Republicans are to blame for this mess, they did not want her or her agency, and her leading it was not going to happen.  I worry for the agency itself, and find it telling that an agency created to protect consumers is going to be in a battle for it's very existence, and will not survive if we don't keep the Republicans from taking back control of Congress and the White House.
